Zakynthos, also known as Zante, is a green island with fertile valleys and a mild climate. It has different types of beaches, such as sandy beaches in secluded coves on the southeastern part of the island and rugged cliffs with an interesting underwater world on the western part of the island.
It’s the third largest island in the Ionian Sea with a rich history of Venetian rule. The island is known for its diverse landscape, with sandy beaches in the southeast and rugged cliffs in the west. Zakynthos is also renowned for its flora, with over 7,000 species of flowers, and its ancient acropolis attributed to the island’s first inhabitant, Zakynthos. A Venetian fort was built on the site in later times.
